You have your suspicions that you guys are on the “outs”, but how can you know for sure? There are signs, but you are going to need to know what to look for.

Couple Identity Theft – If he is not longer open to talking to you about your future together, that may be your dead giveaway that there isn’t a future to discuss.

Criticize Much? – Those things that were so cute about you before may not be so cute to him now. If he’s constantly pointing out your flaws you should talk to him about it. Nine times out of ten you guys need to go your separate ways. I mean, why would you want to be with someone who points out your every flaw anyway?

Secrets and Lies – Let’s face it, any sign of the two of these is all the proof you need that it’s over. Your relationship is clearly in an unhealthy place, and you deserve someone who will treat you with the utmost respect. Unless it’s you that is lying and keeping secrets, then it’s the other way around.

Distance – This is the biggest tell-tale sign. If your partner is creating an obvious distance that has you worried, it’s time to sit down and talk about where your feelings lie.

It’s better to be honest with one another than to live a lie. You will both feel better in the long run after ending a charade or defining the relationship.
