Have You Checked Out Your Local Chamber of Commerce Yet?

If you’re looking for more ways to broaden your network, establish partnerships, find mentors, or market your business then you may want to check out your local chamber of commerce. Practically every city has one, so be sure to look up yours in city hall.

First things first though. What is a chamber of commerce?

According to Wikipedia, “A chamber of commerce (also referred to in some circles as a board of trade) is a form of business network, e.g., a local organization of businesses whose goal is to further the interests of businesses. Business owners in towns and cities form these local societies to advocate on behalf of the business community.”

The specific activities that happen in chambers of commerce will vary depending on its members and location, but often chambers hold meetings and networking events that allow business to get to know each other and find ways to help each other grow.

It’s always a good idea for entrepreneurs to check out what’s going on in their local chamber of commerce. For one thing, it gives them a chance to network out and for another, participating in chamber of commerce events helps your local economy, which is a win-win for everyone.
